personal style is something of a mystery—it’s as unique as your own handwriting. here, our attempt at breaking it down for you…
How long have you been working at J.Crew?
I moved to New York from London six years ago to work on crewcuts. I’m excited that my fellow Brits are able to deck their kids in crewcuts thanks to the opening of our Regent Street store!Growing up, who influenced your personal style?
My father was a French teacher when I was young, and our regular trips to France had a big impact on my sartorial education. I was usually dressed in a hand-knit Fair Isle sweater from my granny and a pair of practical cords. I learned that it is often the attitude with which you wear your clothes that makes you feel interesting and attractive, and that perhaps an unexpected proportion, color or detail is enough to add that je ne sais quoi!Photography by Alexey Yurenev.
