1. En route to the town of Courmayeur. It’s impossible to capture the scale of these massive, rocky mountains—the peaks are totally hidden in clouds and fog.
2. Chris Cragoe, one of the photo assistants, hanging out of the car window to get a shot. I loved this moment.
3. I thought this lamppost at a local gas station was such an amazing shape—it curved upward like some kind of exotic creature. Everything in this region seemed to point to the sky.

4. A charming restaurant in Courmayeur.
5. One of the three (!) gondolas we took to reach our shoot location.

6. This is where the gondola drops you off. Everyone was feeling the altitude at this point—it left you literally breathless.
7. Those are people down there! The sheer size of the glacier was incredible—it was a humbling experience to feel that small.
8. Chris in a doorway. The light on this mountain was like nothing I’ve seen before—such deep contrast.
