These photos by New York–based artist Max Snow are so striking, we just had
to share them with you. They come from the latest series of Snow’s work, called
The Lady of Shalott, inspired by the Alfred Tennyson poem of the same name. (A
poem we kind of remember reading in high school English, but we admit to having to
 reread after looking through these photographs.) Currently on view
at Colette in Paris, these black-and-white portraits include ones of famous subjects
such as model Arizona Muse and Snow’s wife, fashion stylist Vanessa Traina
(who, as seen above, is simply stunning in her custom Givenchy wedding dress).
Snow’s show notes explain his desire to “raise questions about society and the
artist’s role.” We think that means we should book a ticket to Paris to check it out
for ourselves.
