From blossom boughs to metallic fringe to something resembling a pineapple piñata,
CONFETTISYSTEM’s MoMA PS1
exhibition, 100 Arrangements, is a wonderland of
arts-and-crafts confections. We particularly love the colorful paper flowers
(the pair handmade similar garlands
for a wedding shoot in our Style Guide).
Friends Nick Andersen and Julie Ho, the paper-wielding wizards behind
CONFETTISYSTEM, have been collaborating with us since 2010, and have done
set design for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Beach House.
TIP: Stop by the museum on Sunday afternoons to see the installation transformed into
a performance space for various artists as part of MoMA PS1’s Sunday Sessions
program. (Then grab a bite at the museum’s restaurant, M. Wells, the cafeteria-style
dinette that’s set up like a classroom.)
CONFETTISYSTEM’s 100 Arrangements
exhibition is on view at MoMA PS1
through March 31, 2013.
