Recently our Rockefeller Center store went though a much-needed face-lift. We were faced with what to do with the massive two-story-high wall that previously had a pair of sconces smack-dab in the middle. Sconces removed, we now had a blank slate and the opportunity to create something that really made use of the height. Enter artist Christopher Bettig, a Los Angeles-based artist and founder of the Mountain Label Design Studio. I had seen one of Chris’s installations made of salvaged wood and was really drawn to his aesthetic. He was psyched to be working with us and despite the record-breaking heat wave in New York City that week and working amid what was still a construction site, he created this beautiful piece. Thanks, Chris. We couldn’t be happier!
